UKTC Grappling Seminars 2009

Master Hiron John from International Linked TaeKwon-Do (ILT) accompanied by Pat Conway and Michelle Day had an early start on Saturday 24th January as they headed off to Stanstead airport to catch a flight to Newcastle. Upon arrival at Newcastle, the trio were greeted by William McElhone of United Kingdom Training Centres (UKTC). Following a hearty breakfast, they travelled to Park View Community Centre at Chester Le Street for the first of the weekends seminars.

Black Belt Hall of Fame, Pittsburgh, USA

On Thursday 13th November, Master Hiron John, Michelle Day and Martin Brophy were up early to head off to Gatwick Airport to catch the 1st of their flights to take them to the Eastern USA International Martial Arts Association (EUSAIMAA) Black belt Hall of Fame.

IIC Course November 2008

Saturday 1st November – day one of International Linked TaeKwon-Do’s instructor course hosted by Master Hiron John, VII Degree. A day focusing mainly on TaeKwon-Do, interspersed with movements found within other martial styles, to demonstrate the close relationship between the martial arts and how techniques could be applied to the students chosen style.

Thanks to a fire alarm, it was a delayed and cold start to the day. A vigorous warm-up soon got the blood flowing again. The group then lined up to recite the tenets and the oath of TaeKwon-Do and observe a minute’s silence in honour of General Choi Hong-Hi.

ILT Patterns Seminar 2007

On Saturday 12th May 2007 50 students from International Linked Tae Kwon-Do (ILT) clubs throughout UK attended a patterns seminar at Kingsbury TaeKwon-Do gym in London. ILT were very fortunate to have Kieran Henderson visiting from ILT Korea. Mr. Henderson took the group through what he called a ‘light warm-up’.

3rd IIC Malta 2006

Saturday 14th December and a group of 14 students and instructors for ILT met up at Luton Airport for the start of what was going to be a thoroughly enjoyable but tiring experience. After some initial hick-ups such as someone forgetting their training uniform and other such issues, we progressed through check-in, security and on to the bar.

I visited the ITF dojang in Seoul on Saturday and they are affiliated to Grand Master Rhee Ki Ha.UKTA the woman I met there said she was his sister and had visited Harrow. Small world no? Of course I will make introductions and set up meetings for your self and the Dojang's Master Kim Hoon, who is a professor of Taekwondo.
